Meet Bro. Mickey

Brother Mickey McGrath, an Oblate of St. Francis de Sales, lives and works in Camden, NJ. He is an award winning artist, author, and speaker whose work celebrates the deep connections between art, beauty, and religious faith. In addition to creating paintings commissioned by churches and schools, as well as illustrations for leading Catholic publishers, Mickey offers illustrated Monday morning devotions on his facebook page and website, which have picked up thousands of followers.

Inspiration

Bro Mickey offers presentations, retreats, and workshops throughout the US and Canada. Using his artwork as a backdrop, he shares colorful stories from the Gospels and the lives of the saints that focus on the healing power of the creative spirit dwelling within each of us- with a refreshing blend of humor and depth.

Awards

In 2016, World Library Publications published a coloring book entitled DRAWING CLOSER TO GOD and produced three DVD’s of Bro. Mickey’s talks on the topics of Jesus, Mary, and Dorothy Day and Catholic Social Teaching . In 2015, his book, GOOD ST. JOHN XXIII (Clear Faith Publishers) won First Place in the spirituality category from both the Catholic Press Association and the AssociationofCatholicPublishers;alsoin2015,hislatestbook, DEARYOUNG PEOPLE: Inspirations From Pope Francis for Everyone (WLP), won a silver med and al from the Moonbeam Children’s Spiritual Books Association. In 2014, GO TO JOSEPH (World Library Publications) won three awards from the Catholic Press Association and the Association of Catholic Publishers.
